Special K
Baby K got lots of visitors at the hospital and during his first week, but because no one knew his name until the bris (except us and the lady that collected the birth certificate form), people came up with nicknames for him -- he was shmuli in utero, but once he came out, he was known as Baby K, JJ (Jem Junior, since he's a clone of Jem) and Special K... Special K seemed to stick...

The Papparazzi
Baby K Arrives - November 4, 2007 at 3:49pm
So, that was my last pregnancy post cause on Saturday November 3rd the contractions started...and after shabbos lunch, a walk around the neighborhood, a meeting at shul, and a friend's bday party, we called our doctor at 11:15pm since my contractions were between 3-5 minutes apart and then we headed to the hospital...
We got there at midnight, and after they cleaned a room for us (they were PACKED that night), I was admitted and hooked up to fetal monitors, etc. We attempted to sleep throughout the night and the next morning (Sunday, November 5th), they gave be pitocin to help move things along... that's when the TERRIBLE back labor began. After a few hours of excruciating pain, I opted for an epidural and by 10:30am I was a happy camper again. At 11:30, my doctor broke my water and by 1:30 I was almost fully dilated (my dr came in to check me at 1:30 thinking he'd be going home for a few hours and come back in the evening to deliver me, but no no! the epidural made me so relaxed that the baby moved his way down the birth canal and was almost ready to come out at 2pm). So, Dr Growdon said he was going to run back to his office to do some work and come back at 2:30 so I could push. I pushed from about 2:30 on, listening to Salt n Peppa's Push It on the mix that Becca made for us... and then at 3:49pm, Baby K arrived...
